A tribute to one of Trinidad and Tobago’s greatest musical icons, Dr. Jit Samaroo.
A three-day festival, organised by his son Amrit Samaroo, in collaboration with key partners including the University of the West Indies (UWI), Supernovas Steel Orchestra, Renegades Steel Orchestra, will bring together diverse audiences to commemorate "Dr." Samaroo’s unmatched contributions to steelpan music and culture.
It will feature:
- Documentary Film Night
Two documentary screenings; a feature on the life of Jit Samaroo presented by Pomegranate Studios Limited and a short on Supernovas journey to Iron Park 2025 by Livin Local Entertainment
- Seminar
Discussions surrounding Jit Samaroo’s contribution to culture and society at the University of the West Indies DCFA, St Augustine
- Grand Concert: Renegades & Supernovas at NAPA
Featuring two of the country’s premier steelbands, Supernovas and BP Renegades with a special performance by the National Steel Symphony Orchestra (NSSO)
