Description

Online via Zoom

We all harbour stories of pain, resilience, wonder, and survival. Have you ever felt the weight of yours? Here’s your chance to shed it, to create something from it. Join journalist Ira Mathur, author of Love the Dark Days, winner of the 2023 OCM Bocas Prize for Non-Fiction, for an intimate and transformative online workshop.

Great non-fiction writing requires a deep understanding of one’s experiences, and this workshop is designed to help you achieve that by revealing and making sense of the past. This workshop provides a safe haven to explore and share your narrative, offering guidance and support throughout the process. Participants can alter names and details to ensure privacy, creating an environment where honest expression is encouraged.

What You’ll Gain:

Delve into Your Story: Unearth the memories that have shaped you. Creative narrative therapy can heal past trauma by unearthing the truth and replacing pain with insight. Bring your stories to life, from childhood to adulthood. Tap into your authentic self, take steps toward becoming a published writer, hone your writing skills, and write your family story for those who will cherish it for generations.

Discover Your Voice: Unleash your literary potential. Ira Mathur’s guidance will help you find your voice and resonate deeply with others.

By the end, you will have crafted a significant piece of creative non-fiction and produced writing ready for further development or submission to agents.

This writing workshop is a leap into the essence of your unique psyche. Whether you’re seasoned or a beginner, Ira Mathur’s empathetic approach ensures a supportive environment where your story can flourish.
